Creeksea is an ancient parish that is now administered by the adjoining Town of Burnham on Crouch.

Creksea remains a small community with a strong identity stretching along ferry road from the Church and Hall to the River.

Only in comparatively recent times has the spelling of Creeksea been agreed. Many spellings such as Crixee and Cricksey  can be found in old records.
