VILLAGE INDEX

Ferryboat Inn

Attractive old 18th Century Inn with a Riverside setting.

The Inn is timber framed with weather boards and handmade clay tiles.

The building was described as Ferry Farm in 1840 but had changed use to the

Ferryboat Inn by 1873.

The inn is at the site of the ferry crossing over the River Crouch which was the scene of the legendary elopement of Captain Cammock and Alice Rich

 to read the story of the lovers on Essex Family History

 Crouch Valley line has used a drawing of this Inn to decorate it’s Railway Carriages.

Holy Trinity Church

 
 

18th century church constructed of brick and half timber. 

 

North Fambridge Hall

A house dating back to 1600 with medieval origins.

North Fambridge Village Hall

The Centre of activity in the village was opened on 1st October 1959 and extended in 1970 due to a bequest from Mrs L K Barrett of North Fambridge Hall.

The original fireplace with ECC crest dates from the previous schoolhouse use of the village hall

North Fambridge village hall proudly displays the Ruggle Brise shield for the best kept village in 1964
