Ferryboat Inn

Attractive
old 18th Century Inn with a Riverside setting.
The
Inn is timber framed with weather boards and handmade clay tiles.
The
building was described as Ferry Farm in 1840 but had changed use to the
Ferryboat
Inn by 1873.
The
inn is at the site of the ferry crossing over the River Crouch which was the
scene of the legendary elopement of Captain Cammock and Alice Rich
to read the story of the lovers on Essex Family History
Crouch
Valley line has used a drawing of this Inn to decorate it’s Railway Carriages.
