Burnham on Crouch and the Dengie 100 are fortunate to have the Rivers Crouch and Blackwater plus the North Sea on three sides of the peninsula which gives the area  it's famous mild maritime climate enjoying mild winters and fine summers .
 

The area is noted as one of the driest in the UK which means that the local shops sell more barbecues than they sell wellington boots.
