Crouch and Roach Estuary Project

VILLAGE INDEX

The Crouch & Roach Estuary Project was established in 2003 by a local partnership of stakeholders including the Crouch Harbour Authority, Maldon & Rochford District Councils, Burnham Town & Rochford Parish Councils, Essex County Council, Chelmsford Borough Council, the Countryside Agency, English Nature, the Environment Agency, the Ministry of Defence Estates and Defra.

The key aim of the project is to provide a co-ordinated approach reflecting local interests to ensure the sustainable use of the estuary without compromising the quality of life for its residents and its enjoyment by residents and visitors alike and the first step was to produce an Estuary Management Plan for the Crouch & Roach Estuary.

The management plan has 16 key points that will be of interest to anyone concerned with commercial, leisure, sporting or ocological interests on the River Crouch.
