Burnham on Crouch and the villages of the Dengie Hundred has inspired many artists, authors and many other types of artisan.

The light, scenery, buildings and water in this area combine to inspire the current generation of artists and photographers creating an artistic buzz which in turn encourages artisans of many styles.

Burnham celebrates annually in the successful art trail but continues the work through the year through the strongholds of Back2the Wall and Templemans Galleries aided by Art Clubs at Burnham and Southminster as well as busy art classes.

Several villages including Purleigh and Southminster hold popular art shows.
